The Flying dress

This page is dedicated to all the Flying dress outfits I have made so far. The dress pretty much follows the now discontinued Simplicity pattern, but since I have no embroidery machine and hand embroidery is costly, I substitute the embroidery with glass beads. I also don't ruffle the skirt like the pattern suggests, but pleat it on one side of the front skirt. This is more in accordance of the original movie outfit also. My fee to make this outfit is $ 375, materials and shipping is extra. Shipping time is around 3 months after the order has been placed, so if you need this for a special date, please be sure to contact me early enough.

The first version I made was with navy blue velvet and royal blue satin. My customer Lesley's version was in navy blue velvet with navy blue satin. Another customer of mine, Jamie bought her outfit on e-bay and I had made that one in a cranberry colored velvet with a cranberry satin. The beading was silver. The outfit actually consists of a seperate dress with a Jacket.

Jamie finally had a minute in her busy schedule to send me a pic of herself wearing it. Isn't she lovely????
