Sandra's 1812 re-enactment wardrobe
Sandra will be attending a 1812 re-enactment in Norfolk, Virginia later this year and has asked me to make her several outfits for this. To get started, I made her a beautiful daydress, it's a vamped up version of my Bar-b-que dress, since Sandra really likes lace.As an evening and ball gown she had pretty much supplied her own design, a trained white silk gown with a cranberry red velvet bodice and velvet sleeves, which are split down the center and reveal a silk undersleeve. The entire gown is trimmed with bridal lace and has several layers of ruffles on the skirt hem. To go with this there's also a cranberry red velvet Spencer and a matching little satchel. Her husband wants to step out in style wearing a velvet coat, which is still in the planning stages...

A full frontal view of Sandra's ball gown. Made from silk velvet for the bodice and white silk for the top skirt. Trimmed with tons of lace, rayon braid and bridal lace around the neckline. A dream. Back closure with 4 metal buttons bearing a crest and handmade button loops. The sleeves are split in the center, revealing a silk undersleeve. The opening and the sleeve cuffs are trimmed with more bridal lace.
