Jan's Regency gown
Jan's daughter has been taking classes in collegge about Jane Austen and both Jan and her daughter are not only enthralled with the author, but also the dresses fashionable at that time. So Jan has deceided to attend a more formal tea and was in need of a dress! The design goes after the one I used for Bibi's green ballgown, one of the most popular ones I have cooked up yet. I added oodles of navy blue satin ribbon bows all over the dress and Jan loves not only the gown itself, but was also surprised to find out how well it fits without ever having modelled for me.
I made a matching sackpurse to go with it and sent her the left over fabric to have a bonnet made.
Holly's Regency ball gown...
Holly's dress, just like Jan's, is a version of Bibi's famed green ball gown. Holly really liked a Sage green for the base dress, but went with a floral scroll embroidered sheer in ivory instead of the stripes. The Sage green fabric is a polyester shantung with a satin back.
