A little something to accessorize! |
Every great Regency outfit needs some accessorizing to complete the look. I make Spencers, matching or not, shawls, wraps, sack purses, capes/cloaks and coats. Coats start at $ 200, capes/cloaks at $150, sackpurses are $10, shawls and wraps are around $20 and Spencers usually are around $60-100. Material and shipping cost is extra, with you buying your own fabrics. |
Examples of Spencer jackets. The possibilities with these are literally endless. If you want to go really simple or really fancy. Spencer jackets start at $60 and can go all the way up to $100, depending on design. Fabrics and shipping are extra. |

A Pelisse is a sort of overcoat, but not with the main purpose of providing warmth. It can be with full length sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, short sleeves or no sleeves at all. It buttons down the front on the bodice only, the skirt part is open. Wearing a Pelisse can change the look of a dress dramatically. Wear it to go out, add an extra layer in the fall or dress up a gown a bit. Kate Winslet wore a peach colored silk Pelisse on several occasions in " Sense and Sensibility" to accessorize her wardrobe, as the dashwood sisters did not have great means and not a big wardrobe because of it. To the right here is Nadine and her husband, attending a Regency themed wedding. The dark blue part of her outfit is a Pelisse I made for her, the lightblue part is a modern tank style formal dress from the mall. Nadine wanted to look the part but stay on a budget, she already owned the dress from a previous occasion. |

I added two more frog closures after these pics where taken, to make this cape more functional. It also has side openings for your arms, this is not easily visible in the pictures. Capes or cloaks are traditionally made of wool, as they are supposed to be warm and fend of the weather, but a variety of other materials can also be used, velvet offers itself for a bridal cape. Capes start at $150. |
