Bibi's 2007 and 2008 JASNA gowns...
For this year's event, 2008, which just ended in Chicago, we pulled off another one of a kind design. The gown is made up of 3 different kinds of fabric. The base is formed by a dark aqua nubbed silk and is overlaid by an aqua and seafoam green striped sheer. Last, an ivory colored solid with antique gold embroidery forms the sleeves, borders the hem and frames the neckline. The gown was then trimmed with an antique gold metallic lace that came pre-beaded and a gold colored braid for the hem of the base skirt.
Bibi wanted a small train that could be "put away" for the dancing part of the gala evening, so I designed the train to completely fold up and to the inside of the back skirt and then stay put in there with a series of snaps.
The bodice features another brazenly low cross over neckline, which re-peats in the back. The gown closes with hidden hooks and eyes underneath.
Beauty!!!
The dress we created for the 2007 event was just as exquisite. A french silk in a most luxurious stripe design, featuring tones of teal, olive and dark red, was combined with a gold toned embroidered sheer. The neckline is designed so the silk just legally covers everything that ought to be covered and the sheer covers the rest, ahem, half heartedly.  :o)
A very narrow venise lace snakes around the neckline.
