Bibi's 2005 JASNA Gown.......
Previous years.....
I will of course post pictures from this year's JASNA event as soon as I have them, sometime middle/end of October, so in the meantime you will have to contend with me modeling the outfit. I also took Bibi's previous page off the line and you can access it by clicking on the button in the corner.

This year's outfit was inspired by Empress Josephine's coronation gown. The dress is a satin lined floaty, overlaid with a sheer material that has a geometric diamone pattern embroidered in it. Close to impossible to make out, since it's white. Blah, I know. The neckline plunges brazenly in front and a gold seedbead "wreath" trims it. The hem of the sheer skirt is trimmed with an antique gold interior deco fringe. On top of this goes:

A rust red velvet top coat. Bibi has been asked to participate in a Jane Austen fashion show at the convention. Needless to say, I have a reputation to defend and she has to look royal! That's how we came about imitating the Empress Josephine look. The top coat closes in front with snaps and I added an antique gold tassel tie back for more class.
I did post on my info page that I no longer work with velvet, but made an exception for Bibi, since we go back quite a few years....
If you look closely at the sleeve, you might be able to see the embroidered pattern of the sheer.
As always, if you save the pictures to your desktop, you can open them in their original size, as I have to make them smaller to fit on the webpages.
